A once-tired Stanmore Bay bach is now a coastal home built for arrival — where a striking stone wall draws you in from the entry, sweeping up into the staircase as one continuous gesture. Our team brought this vision to life after 40 years of family memories on the site, pairing durable Abodo Vulcan cladding with a Patagonia Quartzite kitchen and fireplace from CDK Stone. Outside, a new outdoor room with a retractable Louvretec roof creates a year-round space for fire, cooking, and gathering, while a rebuilt pitched roofline with folding screens opens the home fully to the coast. With only a modest increase in footprint, it's proof that thoughtful, well-executed renovation can transform a home without losing what made it loved in the first place.
